Bioinformatics is an interdisciplinary area where mathematics, statistics and computer science are used to solve problems in biology. The MSc in Bioinformatics at De Montfort University aims at providing a bridge for those talented students in relevant fields to cross over their existing disciplines and come into this exciting subject. This programme provides you knowledge of the various types of problems addressed in bioinformatics, skills in the computational techniques used, and insights into their theoretical basis. There are a wide range of future career for the students in bioinformatics, such as bioinformatics industry, IT industry, pharmaceutical industry, biology industry and the health and medical industry.

De Montfort University is located in central England (only an hour by train from London and near many airports) and equipped with first class facilities. The School of Computing achieved a rating of 4 in the last Research Assessment Exercise and takes.
